Analysis: AMD INTC NVDA AMN PING CBOE F URI MS CIBR VZ NUE UPS

We just finished our August Member's-Only Call, which if you missed, can be watched here, and later today the transcript should be available. While members wait for that, we're sharing some highlights from the conversation.

Comparing AMD's (AMD) June-quarter earnings against those for Intel (INTC) , shows AMD continues to be a best of breed company, winning end market share for its chips. Given the strength in data center and expected softness is P.C. and gaming, we'll look for Nvidia (NVDA) to similarly deliver a modest earnings beat in the coming weeks and reiterated its forward guidance as well. As that happens, we think investors will revisit AMD's guidance with a more positive light.

Even though the shares of AMN Healthcare (AMN) have traded off of late following a monster run, the monthly June Job Openings and Labor Turnover Summary report data continues to reinforce the need for contract labor as health care hires remain nearly half job openings with quit rates trending hire.

As we discussed this morning, Thoma Bravo's purchase of Ping Identity (PING) confirms the growth prospects for cybersecurity, data privacy and digital identity, but also the shares remain undervalued. We will be looking to take advantage of this in the coming days.

Despite the market's move higher, we are still in a bear market, and for that we'll continue to keep our inverse ETFs in play as well as our position in Cboe Global Markets (CBOE) .

While Ford Motor's (F)  July quarter sales data was stronger than expected, giving some additional lift to the shares, we see some technical resistance ahead after the shares have rallied more than 50% since mid-July.

The monster run in the shares of United Rentals (URI) , from the level we added to the portfolio's position on June 28 to its current share price isn't lost on us. As members know, our preference is to lock at least a slice of such profits even though the longer-term outlook continues to be bright.

With the IPO market remaining an unknown for Morgan Stanley (MS)  as the economic landscape continues to slow and the shares approaching the upper end of the trading box they've been in, the shares could be a modest source of funds to build out our positions in the First Trust Nasdaq Cybersecurity ETF (CIBR) , Verizon (VZ) , Nucor (NUE)  or UPS (UPS)  shares.

Again, those are some highlights, and we'd encourage members to watch the replay or read the transcript.

Thanks for watching, email in follow-up questions, and once again hats off to Katherine for doing a great job hosting the call.
