Analysis: NUE PEP

On this week's Action Alerts PLUS Podcast, co-portfolio managers Bob Lang and Chris Versace talk about the fallout from the Fed's September monetary policy meeting and updated economic forecasts, why the current oversold market conditions don't signal the all-clear for stocks, and why trading volume is the stock market polygraph.

They also discuss the continued dollar strength and why it's the latest reason why traders have close to $5 trillion parked in money-market mutual funds -- and the signal that sends to the markets.

Bob and Chris then move on to the portfolio's latest move exiting Nucor (NUE) and adding to holdings in PepsiCo (PEP)  . They also discuss companies they are doing their homework on and why.

Meanwhile, between a double-digit number of Fed speakers this week and the August PCE Price Index on Friday, the two talk about what they'll be watching as we finish out September and the third quarter. And one of the items is about what we're likely to hear between now and Oct. 14.
